Now that I’m retired from tv news after 50 years, I’m living my dream of being a filmmaker with two documentaries and a screenplay underway. Filmmaking requires funding, and instead of conventional fundraising like crowdsourcing, grant writing, and fundraising events, I decided to create a store that had the possibility of growing and supporting my film projects. “Johnnie Be Good” is a music doc about Johnnie Johnson, the hall of fame piano man who collaborated with Chuck Berry to make St. Louis one of the birthplaces of rock and roll. “Brother Boogie” is a film about a man whose unconventional journey to becoming a prison minister began with gambling and bank robbery.
